QA social

[IT part 1] Una comunità, un wiki o un social che cos'è Quora  ? Sto pensando all'esperienza che provo su Quora,  (http://www.quora.com/) forse dal latino plurale di quorum, ma se volete la genesidel nome http://www.the-name-Quora .

All’esenziale una piattaforma QA, (domande e risposte) sociale.

Premetto che non pubblicizzo o promuovo tale piattaforma, suggerisco e commento come semplice osservatore e utente.

Il design è semplice e funzionale, intuitivo, come in tutti i veri social che funzionano, non si vuole perdere minuti cercando "come fare a...", a fianco dell'intestazione c'è la casella di ricerca per argomento (domanda e risposta).

Questa piattaforma sarebbe stata il sogno di qualsiasi filosofo greco, differisce dai wiki non solo per la grafica, ma per l'aspetto di "social".

Il profilo è compatto, contiene una barra con  "Followers /Following /Topics Boards/Questions /Answers/ Edits", il sito è interamente in Inglese e non è previsto alcun sviluppo in altra lingua; da Aprile di quest'anno  è stato concesso l'accesso e registrazione dall' Italia.

C'è uno "score" o punteggio, tutti partono da 500 crediti, ad ogni domanda il credito cala di 50 crediti poi le risposte, i voti  aumentano il credito, il sistema è più complesso, ma  lo scopo è sia responsabilizzare l'utente che incentivare la partecipazione.

Da quanto ho visto, gli utenti di Quora sono molto responsabili nell'uso di Quora stesso e dando valore alla piattaforma, seguendo semplici regole di buon senso, elevano la partecipazione. Qual è il segreto dell’attrattiva di Quora?

Ho provato a descrivere ed elencarle, se ne avete ulteriori, partecipate suggerendo ulteriori a questo blog così allarghiamo l'orizzonte.

Tutti sanno che esistono migliaia di siti con QA, uno dei più conosciuti è Yahoo Answers, Answer, Allexpert etc. Poi alcuni siti di prodotti comparativi, vendita, promuovuono un QA tra utenti e possibili acquirenti, davvero molto utili come Ciao.it , poi quasi ogni sito ha una FAQ.

Sinceramente non è mia intenzione fare una lista, ne descriverli, va ben oltre le mie possibilità e lo scopo di questo post.

Un’altra piattaforma degna di nota è anche Justanswer.com  dove l'utente chiede ad un esperto dietro pagamento  consulti professionali, l'ho sperimentato e recensito positivamente. Esiste anche la nuova start-up Responsa.it , dove la prova è gratuita per un periodo e può essere integrata nel sito aziendale.

Quora appare differente dalle altre, come se avesse una sua forte personalità.

Il problema principale è l'autorevolezza della fonte, l'onestà d'intenti; su internet, un tema che coinvolge tutto ciò che c’è su internet e di non facile soluzione. L’esperienza di Ebay è la verifica incrociata degli utenti con il punteggio, per verificare costantemente il servizio del rivenditore e dell'utente.

Con Quora il punteggio è dato anche dai voti degli utenti oltreché dal riconoscimento dato dalla piattaforma  per il lavoro dedicato da utenti nel rispondere ai quesiti.

In Quora la sua attrattiva stà nel coinvolgimento e nell'esperienza; mi sono accorto di far parte di una "comunità" seria, non anonima, dove c'è continuità di livello, dove si evita il "trash", facile quando vi sono migliaia di utenti. La domanda di qualità  nel web non deve apparire come semplice censura ma regole condivise. Non fare domande inutili, non dare risposte veloci,non meditate, non pertinenti.

C'è un reale bisogno di "aiuto" reciproco, scambio di conoscenze, soluzioni, che vengono date da persone con diversa formazione, esperienza, ciò che poi nasce è il "thread", o "filo del discorso" che è estremamente creativo, partecipativo, innovativo. Le domande hanno un flusso costante di risposte, commenti. La risposta non è mai definitiva, unica.

Ciò che nasce è la molteplicità di visioni di fronte la stessa domanda,  affascinante.

Il profilo non è orientato al competitivo, ma alla qualità della partecipazione senza essere esasperata. Le notifiche sono scelte e relative all’argomento che si segue.

Potete spendere ore su Quora e trovarlo affascinante, intrigante, come il gioco delle domande dei bambini,  impararando nuove cose. Alla fine, questo era lo scopo iniziale della rete, allargare la propria conoscenza.

A community, a wiki or a social, what is Quora ? I'm thinking about my experience of Quora (http://www.quora.com/) from the Latin plural of quorum, perhaps, but if you want the origin of the name the-name-Quora. Essentially a  social platform QA (questions and answers).

As an observer and user, I have no personal gain in writing about it.

The design is simple and functional, intuitive, as in all true successfull social work, so people do not want to waste minutes searching for "how to ..."; next to the header is the topic search box (questions and answers).

This platform would be the dream of any greek philosopher, differs from the wiki not only for graphics, but for being social.

The profile is essential, compact, contains a bar with "Followers / Following / Topics Boards / Questions / Answers / Edits", the site is entirely in English and there is no plan of development in any language, only from April this year it has been granted access and registration from 'Italy.

There is a "score" , all start at 500 credits, the credit drops as a member put a question, (50 credits) , then answers and votes increase the credit, the system is more complex, but I think the purpose is both empowering the user that encourage participation.

From what I've seen, users are very responsible in using Quora itself  giving value to the platform, following simple rules of common sense, they keep high the quality of participation.

What is the secret of the attractiveness of Quora?

Everyone knows that there are thousands of sites with QA, one of the most popular is Yahoo Answers, Answers, etc. Allexpert. Then some sites of comparative products, sales, have for each product reviews with  QA between users and potential buyers, very useful as Ciao.it, then almost every site has a FAQ.

Honestly I do not intend to list, describe them ,it goes far beyond my ability and the purpose of this post.

Another platform is also worthy of note Justanswer.com where the user asks to consult an experienced professional, after paying a fee and I positively reviewed. There is also a new Italian start-up Responsa.it, where the test is free for a period and can be integrated into the company website.

Quora try to be different from all, having a strong personality.

The main problem is the reliability of the source, the honesty of intent in internet;

it’s  an issue that involves all of internet business and not easy to solve. The experience of Ebay is the score given by users, a cross-check to monitor both the dealer's service and the user.

In Quora the score is also given by members through the votes and  also by the system

recognizing  the work devoted in answering questions.

The attraction lies in the involvement and experience, I realized I was part of a "community" serious, non-anonymous, where there is continuity in the quality, where it avoids "trash,"

 difficult to manage when there are thousands of users.

There is a demand for quality in web platform, it should not look like censorship

but simply as shared rules. Do not post useless questions, not irrelevant answers.

There is a real need for "help" mutual exchange of knowledge, solutions, which are given by people with different backgrounds, experience. It flows a "thread", or "train of thought" that is extremely creative, participatory, innovative. The questions have a steady stream of responses, comments. The answer is never definitive, unique.

The open questions show a multiplicity of visions in front of the same question,

and it is fascinating to follow the answers. The profile is not oriented to competitiveness but to the quality of participation. Notifications are selected and related to the topic that you engage.

You can spend hours at Quora and find it fascinating, intriguing, as the game of questions leads to more questions and learn new things. Eventually, this was the initial aim of the network, to expand knowledge.
